Get on your spacesuits, everyone! The Big Honk has arrived!

Books just showed up yesterday, and we’ve already got a whole crew ready to send these out into the universe and into your hands. Thank you all for being a part of making this book real. It wouldn’t have happened without you, and I hope you enjoy the book as much as Spencer and I loved making it.

For those of you who participated in the Kickstarter, if you haven’t confirmed your address on the site, please check one last time to ensure these make their way right to where you are.

Hey all! TheKickstarterPackageWe’ll have these books heading out very soon, just wanted to give you a heads up on what that package is going to look like!

We can’t wait to get these out of our office and into your hands! The packing party is this weekend and we’ll be sending them out early next week!

Hey! So, now in the process of finalizing all of the files for our book and I come to this wonderful little hurdle. The AUTHOR BIO. This feels so strange. Now, I’m getting ready to take professional photos tomorrow morning in an effort to convince somebody that I’m a responsible adult, and trying to write all about myself in a pleasant, interesting and marginally mature manner.

So, it’s not surprising that I can’t take it seriously. Check out my first draft!

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for your support! Being able to know that we are making this book is incredible and we couldn’t have done it without you! For those who haven’t already checked it out, preorders are still going on until September 9th on the Kickstarter page, so you can still get it on the action and get a bunch of cool extras for being a part of the launch!

Awesome news! Spencer Smith and I are working hard to make a real, hold-in-your-hand 40-page book of poetry called Could You Hug A Cactus?! With the incredible help and insight of Mike Matola, we were able to carefully choose a selection of my poems to include in the collection, and Spencer painted some incredible illustrations in full acrylic for the book… as you can see!

Hero poetry and artwork

Spencer’s ability to capture the essence of the character is on full display with this art from Hero

Right now, we’ve got a Facebook page set up that we’re updating regularly and on August 10th, we’ll be launching our Kickstarter! Please join us as we work to get our first book off the ground!

So you found an empty book, you think.
But it could be written in invisible ink…
Or the words are so small that you can’t even read
Without the specialized glasses you need.

And what would be written inside such a book
That the people who wrote it don’t want you to look?
It must be important – a really big secret,
For the authors to go to such trouble to keep it.

It could be directions to the fanciest ball,
Ever thrown in the city, or ever at all,
And the only way to get in is to whisper the phrases,
That were written and hidden somewhere in the pages.

Or it could be a map to a park filled with rides,
And you’d find that there aren’t any lines once inside.

Or maybe a lesson that teaches you Kloop,
A language spoken in whispers by the people of Floop.

Or blueprints to build a small rocket ship.

A recipe for cookies with the chocolatest chips.

A picture of Bigfoot and Abe Lincoln together.

A ten-year advance schedule of Washington’s weather.

All these things can be found if you know how to look,
Between the two covers of an old empty book.
